Accounts Receivable Associate

Under direct supervision, contacts customers to obtain payment status and maintains accounts receivable records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contacts customers to secure payment on accounts; escalates issues to Specialists
- Follows department collections timeline making sure balances are paid within terms
- Prepares collection documentation for referral to collection agency
- Researches and resolves customer inquiries regarding invoice payments, charge backs, returned checks, disputes and reconciliations including customer refunds
- Researches and resolves customer accounts, including but not limited to: clearing invoices in SAP; reviewing and evaluating credit limits, placing accounts on cash on delivery and writing off invoices
- Researches and resolves SAP blocked accounts
- Evaluates credit history to determine credit limit increase adjustments
- Updates and maintains customer’s accounts
- Prepares and manages accounts receivable documentation, including records, spreadsheets, and reports.
- Assists employees, vendors or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures and services
- Consistently delivers accurate, high-quality work while providing exceptional customer service and adhering to deadlines
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum of one year customer services experience.
- Accounts receivable or collections experience is preferred.
- Experience with SAP or other accounting related software is required.
- This position also requires excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Must demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with cross functional teams.
- Intermediate level computer experience, including skills with Microsoft Word and Excel, is necessary.
- The ability to work successfully independently and within a team is necessary.
- In addition, organizational and problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.

Educational Requirements
- This position requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Additional college level accounting, finance or math classes are beneficial.
