Business Systems Analyst II

Under general supervision, the Business Systems Analyst II evaluates software requirements, workflows, and challenges to enhance existing systems or implement new solutions. This role collaborates with stakeholders to optimize HR technology, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and user satisfaction. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Conduct gap analyses to identify discrepancies between current and desired states.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure solutions meet requirements.
- Create process models, flowcharts, and documentation to clarify workflows and system functionality.
- Assist in testing and validating system changes during implementation.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. Solve complex problems and take a new perspective using existing solutions.
- Apply broad knowledge to identify and resolve core problems.
- Working with People Care Product Owners plan, organize, and direct concurrent software design and implementation projects.
- Consider enterprise-wide solutions and impact.
- Facilitate ongoing communication with stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage expectations, and address concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate and prioritize business requirements based on their impact and urgency.
- Assist with change management efforts, including user training, communication planning, and adoption support.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and data security practices, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or internal company policies.
- Analyze data trends to support business decisions and validate system effectiveness.
- Develop reports or dashboards to track system performance and project metrics.
- Proactively identify process optimization opportunities and propose improvements.
- Serve as a liaison between People Care leadership, business units, and People Care and IT technical teams, ensuring alignment across departments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of business analysis experience, preferably within HR or related functions.
- Experience working in a data-rich environment, including handling HR data such as payroll, benefits, and employee demographics.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is preferred.
- Understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
- Experience with databases, analytical tools, and techniques.
- Basic understanding of analytical methods (e.g., forecasting, workforce analytics).
- Attention to detail, including validation and reconciliation of HR data and datasets.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint preferred).
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Problem-solving abilities, particularly in resolving system or process issues in HR operations.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in HR and IT departments.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Professional certifications are a plus
Work Days
- Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.
Work Hours
- Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
