Under general supervision, the Inventory Accounting Analyst II ensures the timely analysis of inventory transactions and the movement of product throughout the organization for inventory accuracy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examines various inventory movements and troubleshoots escalated issues related to the movement
  • Analyzes impacts to Moving Average Cost (MAC) to resolve discrepancies
  • Recommends process improvements to address Moving Average Cost (MAC) discrepancies
  • Timely evaluation of “In Transit” product across the organization
  • Analyzes and Resolves Cross Dock inventory discrepancies
  • Recommends resolution to reduce number of blocked invoices in collaboration with Accounts Payable
  • Analyzes and reconciles “GRIR” clearing process
  • Collaborates across departments and recommends business process and system improvements that will streamline business processes in which to gain efficiencies for the organization
  • Coordinates with IT department for complex system issues, maintenance and development such as production, purchasing, receiving, and shipping
  • Coaches and Mentors level 1 Inventory Accounting Analyst
  • Assists employees, vendors or other customers by answering questions related to inventory accounting procedures and services
  • Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


  • A minimum of three years’ experience, including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable or a Retail Inventory environment or equivalent is required.
  • Previous inventory experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of distribution and warehouse operations with ability to understand and follow inventory transactions is required.
  • Experience with SAP (BW, ECCS, GL, MM) is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile accounts is required.
  • Ability to learn commonly used analytical and statistical concepts and practices is necessary.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data, are required.
  • This position requires good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including skills in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; ability to design and build spreadsheets is beneficial.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and present a professional demeanor is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, multi-task, and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines simultaneously is required.
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude are essential.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding Company values are key attributes.
  • In addition, organizational and problem solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.


Educational Requirements:

This position requires an Associate, Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience. Additional college-level accounting classes are beneficial.


Work Days:

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.


Work Hours:

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime (more than forty hours per week) may be necessary.
