The Senior WFM Analyst supports the day-to-day operation of the workforce management (WFM) product suite, including the field labor model, volume and labor forecasting, advanced scheduling, timekeeping, absence management, and analytics. Provides real-time solutions to address staffing needs and concerns. Collaborates with field leadership and other stakeholders to interpret, present, and consult on data results; provides recommendations to improve WFM planning and decisions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds to complex/ escalated WFM related field inquiries, determines root cause to identify potential gaps in processes or documentation, and recommends suitable solutions. Promotes WFM application functionality to support regional staffing/ scheduling needs and optimize return on investment (ROI).
  • Obtains feedback from field leadership into the accuracy of labor models; collaborates with internal business partners to create, apply, and validate accuracy of labor standards as well as weekly sales volume and labor forecasts.
  • Ensures that store-specific configuration components are updated and maintained in WFM applications; collaborates with cross-functional business partners to validate and ensure reasonableness of applied configurations.
  • Designs, creates, and maintains reports and dashboards within analytical tools to effectively track key performance indicators and measure historical trends.
  • Analyzes and identifies trends, patterns, gaps and opportunities in labor data. Proactively communicates with region to provide dynamic solutions to discoveries in data.
  • Monitors and reports on nationwide trends and recommendations to optimize WFM plan/ strategy and improve forecasting, including, but not limited to trends in absenteeism, turnover and other events impacting staffing availability. Collaborates with cross-functional business partners to deliver quantifiable results.
  • Provides end user technical support; troubleshoots complex/ escalated system issues including error messages, login difficulties, access denials, data issues and process failures in collaboration with System Administrator.
  • Conducts routine gap analysis; reports on store key operational metrics and staffing concerns; provides recommendations to improve store adoption, accountability and mitigate risks. Identifies training opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Business Intelligence (BI) to develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and validity of reporting data.
  • Develops ad-hoc reporting and summary data for Store Operations leadership and field teams.
  • Manages business requirements documentation; collaborates with IT to identify and implement new requirements.
  • Plans, coordinates, tests and implements system/ product enhancements and upgrades.
  • Partners with IT team as the business subject matter expert to provide functional guidance and written business requirements.
  • Stays current on the latest industry technologies, trends and strategies.
  • Assists employees, vendors or other customers by answering questions related to WFM processes, procedures and services
  • Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • This position requires a minimum of five years progressive workforce management and planning, store scheduling or related experience preferably in a retail environment.
  • Advanced analytical experience, coupled with an ability to comprehend ambiguous data, communicate findings, and propose recommendations is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to scrutinize data, identify and interpret complex trends, and develop and execute appropriate action plans based on discoveries.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of data modeling, data evaluation, report building, and querying ability across multiple tools is required.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with knowledge and understanding of business issues, priorities, goals, and strategy is necessary.
  • Established knowledge of timekeeping, attendance, labor forecasting, and scheduling principles and processes is required.
  • Advanced experience with Kronos Workforce Central (WFC), Reflexis Workforce Management, or other leading workforce management software is required.
  • Progressive experience developing, managing and enhancing cross functional relationships with diverse functional areas, including Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Operations is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex, issues and solutions across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing is necessary.
  • The ability to influence colleagues, peers, and cross-functional teams is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. The ability to work successfully independently and within a team and serve as a trusted expert for assigned duties is necessary.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure, balance competing priorities, accurately meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently is essential.
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude are essential.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science or Business or related field or 9 years of equivalent work experience is required.


Work Days:

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.


Work Hours:

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime (more than forty hours per week) may be necessary.
