The Supply Chain Development Manager is responsible for the strategy and execution of supply chain initiatives that impact cross functional departments including Supply Chain, Merchandising, IT, Store Operations, HR and others.  Specifically, they will manage the supply chain initiatives requiring working capital and operating expense investments in systems, infrastructure, process, and people supporting our company goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and manage end to end supply chain solutions, new business opportunities, analyzing complex scaling challenges, and drive continuous improvement in operations.
  • Plan and drive implementation of new programs, processes, and systems to improve execution and productivity that supports Supply Chain team effectiveness, business growth and value creation tied to 1DT Vision and Strategy
  • Lead teams during the diagnosis/evaluation, design/implementation, planning, and execution phases of projects and program creation
  • Establish collaborative and trusting relationships with key internal leaders and stakeholders to ensure free flow of ideas and information across the functions and business that lead to overall business performance enhancement
  • Gather and analyze data through quantitative and qualitative mechanisms to make decisions on critical strategic issues
  • Support achievement of KPIs through analysis and execution of high impact initiatives across the Supply Chain
  • Assess industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance
  • Evaluate new opportunities and Supply Chain models
  • Build business cases to support recommendations and prioritize these opportunities
  • Set targets and develop plans to improve Supply Chain function performance
  • Launch, track and adjust initiatives to drive business impact
  • Example projects include identifying resource and operational needs for distribution network expansion strategy, partnering with Inventory Planning and Replenishment, product management and engineering stakeholders to pinpoint cost savings and customer satisfaction opportunities on a key business initiative
  • Inspire, develop, and lead Supply Chain team members to grow sales, improve customer experience, optimize spend, and deliver innovation

Job Requirements


  • A minimum of eight years of experience in a combination of Supply Chain, strategy and operations roles (retail supply chain S&OP and S&OE, strategy consulting, business operations, or equivalent experience in supply chain functions including distribution, transportation, and inventory management.
  • A minimum of three years in a management, supervisory, or team leadership capacity is required.
  • Sophisticated understanding of Supply Chain functions, capabilities, and end to end value stream mapping (Inventory Planning and Replenishment, Distribution/Logistics, and Transportation), Sales and Business Development teams
  • We’re looking for future leaders who think critically, strategize end to end supply chain solutions, and adapt quickly.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, including directing non-direct reports
  • Analytically minded with deep experience using data to drive insights and decision-making
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data to wide audiences, including executives, and build clear, concise presentations
  • Experience dealing with unstructured business issues
  • Propensity to ask insightful questions, conduct thorough research, and understand both high-level strategy and ground-level tactical needs
  • Intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and driven to make an impact on the business
  • Strongly predisposed to action and getting things done autonomously


Educational Requirements:

BS/BA in Business, Supply Chain, Economics or relevant field; MBA a plus


Work Days:

Normal workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary. Ability to travel and overnight stays.


Work Hours:

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
