Information Management Analyst II

Under minimal supervision the Information Management Analyst will drive and support information management initiatives and best practice implementation. This Trusted Expert role is responsible for executing and supporting Discount Tire’s Information Lifecycle Management team operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining the enterprise data map, classification and retention policies, and mechanisms to enable and monitor program compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise policies and standards to facilitate best practice data and information management, including but not limited to data classification, use, retention, and lifecycle management.
- Drive and support the development of business-level best practices to adhere to data and information management policies, including but not limited to personal data processing, email, chats, meeting recordings and other media.
- In collaboration with IT, drive and support the establishment, management, and monitoring of privacy and information management controls (e.g., classification, sensitivity, retention labeling)
- Monitor and facilitate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements & data management policies through use and administration of dedicated program tools
- Administrate program tools for data mapping, classification, retention, and investigations as appropriate
- Develop training materials for the identification and management of confidential, personal, privileged, or other protected data assets to facilitate legal, regulatory, and enterprise program compliance
- Support the development of communications and materials for training and awareness activities for the organization (e.g., onboarding, annual training)
- Facilitate program adoption through a network of Information Liaisons (i.e., stewardship), organizing and leading meetings
- Provide Trusted Expert guidance to business teams to meet their information management needs, support data valuation, and make recommendations for the improvement of information assets lifecycle management
- Sustain the records and information retention schedule, including maintenance process, user training, and adoption
- Provide subject matter expertise for the appropriate management of digital and physical data assets as required in collaboration with owning Business Segments
- Participate actively as a SME on data management focused teams and working groups
- Assess privacy and information management business practices and make periodic reports with improvement recommendations to leadership and relevant stakeholders
- Identify, build, monitor, and analyze ILM processes and metrics, i.e., gauges, with intent for continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum of three years’ experience in data management, information management, privacy, or records and information management.
- A privacy or information-related certification, or progress toward obtaining such credential, is strongly desired, such as CIP, CIPP/US, CIPT, CRM, IGP
- Experience with privacy or information management policy development, such as classification, retention, or Privacy-by-design
- Experience with information management technologies, features, and implementation
- Experience engaging with business partners to identify, classify, and manage information and to apply proper policies to information regardless of location or format
- Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding Company values are key attributes
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's in a related field or equivalent experience.
Work Days:
Normal workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.
Work Hours:
Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary. Local Travel is required.
