We are currently looking for a Business Relationship Owner (BRO) in the People Care business segment to join us at the Corporate Headquarters in North Scottsdale, Arizona.  The People Care business segment is comprised of the Human Resources, Payroll, Learning & Development and other support services departments.  The BRO has a deep understanding of the core mission for a particular segment and supports the vision of the enterprise.  This person provides guidance and input in the development of the business segment’s functional needs and activities are appropriately incorporated into technical architecture and process flow.  The BRO helps to explore, assess and present new opportunities as appropriate. 

The BRO must have a solid grasp of the business needs, strategic direction of the organization and particular segment, and related technology that enables the strategy.  They will be asked to vet ideas, build business cases, quantify Return on Investments (ROI), and actively drive roadmaps with Architecture.  Consequently, the BRO must possess business and technology skills, and be a credible source for guidance and advice. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures enterprise projects are designed with end-to-end process in mind and align with both segment and Company strategy.
  • Collaborates with Executive Management, across Business Segments; Department Management; IT and Architecture, and other key stakeholders to determine business obstacles; determines if strategic alignment exists.
  • Leads strategic, problem solving and process improvement discussions within the business segment; participates in strategic, problem solving and process involvement discussions across all business segments.
  • Coordinates discovery, scope, estimates, and business case development for new projects.
  • Clarifies value of new projects by utilizing business cases, ROI, and Cost/Benefit Analysis.
  • Drives the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); measurements and metrics to gauge value and performance; confirms value of new projects is realized by facilitating metrics definition and tracking investment success in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensures projects consider and include elements of the project lifecycle, including, but not limited to, Design, Build, Run, Maintain, Support and Security.
  • Proven technological skill with Workday is preferred.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Job Requirements

  • This position requires 7-10 years business analysis, solution management, Product Owner experience, customer relationship management, account management, program/project management, and/or technology analysis.
  • An understanding of business segment’s project portfolios and strategies to successfully support the business objectives is needed.
  • Proven technological knowledge of assigned business segment is necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience with project analysis, business case development and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with knowledge and understanding of business issues, priorities, goals, and strategy is necessary.
  • Proven ability to provide consultative experience and guidance to teams within the business segment and to other BROs and technical teams, including Business Architects, is vital.
  • Understanding of internal services and capabilities within the business segment is needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas and concisely and clearly articulate technical ideas to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office, including skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio is necessary.
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work well independently is essential.
  • Proven ability as a self-starter and capability to work in a collaborative work environment is vital.
  • Troubleshooting and organizational skills with a can-do attitude and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are needed.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer interactions while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude, is necessary.
  • Proven ability to motivate self and others is necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding Company values is foundational.


Educational Requirements:

  • This position requires a BSC in computer science, engineering or similar. An MBA or business qualification in addition, is preferred.  Alternatively, relevant work experience is required.


Work Days:

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.


Work Hours:

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime (more than forty hours per week) may be necessary.
