Under general direction, the Compensation Analyst gathers compensation data, completes ad-hoc reports and supports the compensation function in order to attract and retain employees with the skills required by the Company.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the compensation team by maintaining regional retail/store and corporate compensation programs.
  • Provides market pricing, cost of living, cost of labor and local market condition information.
  • Administers the nationwide minimum wage change process including communication, HRIS administration and ensuring updated minimum wage posters are delivered.
  • Creates or updates job descriptions in collaboration with managers. Uses established compensation practices to design job families, create job levels and determine FLSA status.
  • Evaluates external competitive market data and compares it to internal salary ranges. Recommends changes to the compensation team.
  • Manipulates high-volume data reports with Microsoft Excel. Uses functions such as V-lookup, if/then and other conditional statements to analyze data.
  • Maintains and ensures salary ranges and job descriptions are accurate and updated.
  • Provides salary recommendations for job changes, promotions, transfers, job reclassifications, etc.
  • Collaborates with the HRIS team to ensure compensation actions (promotions, job changes, etc.) are keyed in correctly.
  • Tracks compensation changes and updates budget spreadsheets with year to date spend.
  • Assists employees and managers by answering questions related to compensation processes, procedures and services.
  • Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • This position requires a minimum of two years Compensation experience.
  • Human Resources Generalist experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing, analyzing and interpreting salary data is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to perform functions in excel, such as V-lookups, conditional statements and formulas is required.
  • Experience with Workday (HRIS) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to gather data, analyze situations and make decisions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to compensation (FLSA, equal pay, min wage) is required.
  • Must possess organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service skills including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude is essential.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with managers and produce results is necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding Company values is key.


Educational Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.


Work Days:

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.


Work Hours:

Normal work hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime (more than forty hours per week) may be necessary.
