Employee Relations Specialist II

The Employee Relations Specialist II serves as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, providing guidance on employee relations matters and ensuring consistent application of workplace policies, employment laws, and best practices. This role handles moderately complex employee relations issues, conducts investigations, and partners closely with HR leadership to foster a positive, compliant, and inclusive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for employee relations concerns, including performance management, workplace conflict, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Conducts impartial and thorough investigations into employee complaints, including allegations of misconduct, harassment, discrimination, or policy violations
  • Provides guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations issues, corrective actions, and effective conflict resolution strategies
  • Supports the development, implementation, and communication of employee relations policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Partners with HR Business Partners, Legal, and leadership to ensure alignment with employment laws and organizational standards
  • Prepares clear and accurate documentation related to investigations, findings, and outcomes
  • Analyzes employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve employee engagement and reduce risk
  • Assists with training managers and employees on employee relations topics, policies, and workplace expectations.
  • Participates in audits, compliance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives related to employee relations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in employee relations, human resources, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, wage and hour).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting employee investigations and managing sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office or similar tools.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certifications are a plus.

Work Days

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.

Work Hours

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
