Market Intelligence Analyst I

Under direct supervision, the Market Intelligence Analyst I supports the Market Intelligence function by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing internal and external data to generate insights that inform category strategy, market share, competitive positioning, and business decisions. This role serves as a foundational position with Merchandising and is designed to build broad analytical, business, and storytelling skills across multiple intelligence disciplines - market measurement, competitive intelligence, and consumer insights. This position works closely with Intelligence Partners, Category Merchants, Operations, and Analytics teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and analyze data from a variety of sources including syndicated POS data, internal POS data, competitive data, consumer panel data, and vehicle data
- Supports development and maintenance of dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports
- Conduct trend, variance, and share analyses to identify opportunities and risks
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis related to category, market, territory, or competitors
- Translate data finding into clear, concise insights and implications for the business. Recommend calls to action that deliver results
- Contribute to market, category, and competitive summaries and presentations
- Support development of standardized intelligence outputs (i.e. dashboards, briefings, and one-pagers, etc.)
- Assist in monitoring competitor activity, pricing, assortment, and market signals
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business questions and analytical needs
- Support insight delivery for planning, business reviews, and leadership updates
- Participate in building best practices, templates, and documentations for Market Intelligence best practices
- Develop working knowledge of data sources, internal systems, and intelligence tools
- Stays current on latest industry trends, events, and market factors to anticipate impacts to the business
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- This position requires 1 - 2 years' experience in market intelligence, competitive intelligence, analytics, merchandising, strategy, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related analytical discipline.
- Experience working with syndicated data, internal performance data, or external market data sources is required; experience within retail, automotive, tire, or adjacent consumer industries is preferred but not mandatory.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required, with demonstrated experience using Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data, build insights, and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms), SQL, or data visualization tools is preferred. The ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, model scenarios, and translate analytical outputs into clear insights and recommendations for business stakeholders is essential.
- Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional projects and supporting multiple stakeholders is required.
- The candidate must exhibit strong business acumen, including an understanding of business processes, priorities, performance metrics, and the competitive environment.
- Experience conducting competitor research, market assessments, pricing analysis, assortment benchmarking, or customer/Voice of Customer analysis is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to present complex ideas concisely and clearly to audiences at varying levels of the organization.
- The ability to synthesize information into executive-ready deliverables such as dashboards, briefings, summaries, and presentations is essential.
- Attention to detail while maintaining a broader strategic perspective is critical.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate with a high level of professionalism and independence.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, coupled with intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, are essential.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
- Professional certifications are a plus.
Work Days
Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.
Work Hours
Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
