Under general supervision, the Payments Business Systems Analyst II evaluates business needs, software requirements, and operational procedures to support the development of new solutions and enhancements to existing applications and systems. The Payments Business Systems Analyst II serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, product teams, and technology partners to design, improve, and support payment processing solutions. This role gathers and translates business requirements, maps end-to-end payment workflows, and ensures processes align with regulatory standards, operational needs, and customer experience expectations. The analyst converts complex payment concepts-such as ACH, card processing, and RTP-into clear functional specifications and user stories to guide development teams..
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leverage industry best practices and knowledge of internal and external business needs to improve payment products, services, and processes.
- Conduct user needs assessments to gather, document, and validate functional requirements.
- Analyze business requirements and map end-to-end payment workflows to ensure solutions meet regulatory, operational, and customer experience standards.
- Identify root causes of system or process issues and drive resolution using sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Plan, organize, and support multiple concurrent software design and implementation initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables remain on track.
- Evaluate enterprise-wide impact when recommending solutions, ensuring alignment with broader business strategy and system architecture.
- Lead process modeling efforts and translate requirements into clear business and technical documentation (including user stories and specifications) under guidance of senior analysts as needed.
- Perform Quality Assurance peer reviews of requirements, specifications, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Enter, track, and maintain customer requests and project updates within company tracking systems.
- Partner with User Documentation and senior team members to develop and maintain user guides, troubleshooting documentation, and release communications.
- Facilitate meetings and conference calls with stakeholders and provide user support and training as needed.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of business analysis experience, preferably supporting enterprise systems and process improvements.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with knowledge of payment rails and industry standards and the ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality payment capabilities.
- High attention to detail, including the ability to validate data, reports, and datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Excellent communication, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable requirements.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working with databases, reporting, and analytical tools/techniques, including comfort working in a data-rich environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel (preferred), and working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Basic understanding of analytical methods such as trend analysis and forecasting.
- SQL/query experience (Microsoft Transact-SQL and/or Oracle PL/SQL preferred).
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively, maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure.
- Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.

Educational Requirements:
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional certifications are a plus.
Work Days:
Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.
Work Hours:
Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
