SAP Solutions Architect - Merchandising

Our Information Technology division consists of more than 200 professionals and continues to grow responsibly. Working independently, the SAP Solutions Architect is responsible for the design of one or more applications or services within an organization, and is typically part of a solution development team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead hands-on solution design and architecture activities, including development of solution architectures, architecture roadmaps, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and technical guidance in support of new and existing projects.
  • Design and ensure scalable, flexible, and high-quality solutions that align with business requirements and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Act as a key liaison between technical teams, functional teams, business stakeholders, and system integrators to support successful solution delivery and implementation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within the merchandising product domain, providing functional and architectural guidance across projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct solution architecture reviews with project teams prior to design and development to ensure alignment with internal product roadmaps, architectural standards, and business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Mentor and support developers and technical team members, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver work accurately and within agreed timelines, maintaining high standards of quality and strong customer focus.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in SAP implementations, with a strong focus on retail or merchandising solutions in architect or senior lead roles.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Retail / SAP S/4HANA Merchandising environments.
  • Proven experience leading or architecting at least one full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA Retail or Merchandising implementation.
  • Strong experience implementing retail merchandising processes, including Assortment Planning, Merchandise Planning, Pricing & Promotions, Procurement & Replenishment, and Inventory & Store Operations.
  • Experience designing end-to-end solution architecture for merchandising platforms, including process, application, data, and integration layers.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP modules, including Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), and integration with FI/CO within retail business processes.
  • Experience with SAP technologies, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, and SAP integration frameworks (APIs, IDocs, CPI/PI/PO).
  • Experience integrating merchandising platforms with enterprise retail systems, including POS, supply chain systems, eCommerce platforms, and warehouse management systems.
  • Expertise in data migration, master data management, data governance, and system performance optimization.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise retail environments and complex system integrations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience as a technical lead or solution architect, mentoring project teams, guiding design decisions, and promoting architecture best practices.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity, influence decisions, and resolve conflicts across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with informatica MDG solutions is a plus

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Work Days:

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.

Work Hours:

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
