Location: South Bend, IN

The Service Professional is an experienced tire and wheel technician responsible for completing advanced tire installations, repairs, and diagnostics with accuracy and efficiency. This position works with high-performance, off-road, specialty, and high-end vehicle applications while delivering excellent service and maintaining Tire Rack's standards for quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Mount, balance, rotate, install, and repair a variety of tires, including high-performance, off-road, and specialty applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex tire-related concerns, including irregular tread wear, vibration issues, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) problems.
  • Operate specialized tools and equipment, including road force balancers and tire changers designed for high-end vehicles.
  • Maintain certification and safely operate the fast cart and forklift.
  • Mentor and train other technicians while supporting quality control and an efficient workflow within the service area.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explain service-related concerns, and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Complete work efficiently and accurately while ensuring all services meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Identify potential workplace hazards, follow required safety procedures, and help maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Perform Crew Chief and/or Service Coordinator responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience as an Apprentice Technician.
  • Strong tire and automotive service knowledge, including experience with tire installation, repair, diagnostics, and specialized equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to train and support other employees while using team members' skills effectively.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts professionally and support a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule within the department's operating hours, including Saturdays.

Hours

Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
