Under general supervision, the Operational Resilience (OpRes) Analyst II will be a key contributor in helping the organization anticipate, prepare for, and mitigate, and learn from unplanned interruptions. This role will be primarily responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to collect, organize, analyze, and report on resilience data related to company activities, departments, business segments, the organization as a whole. The Analyst II will lead the development and maintenance of Operational Resilience documentation, including various analysis, planning, reporting, and learning documents as well as internal team procedures and reference material. The Analyst II will establish themselves as a Trusted Expert in resilience and be relied upon as an important team member in Discount Tire’s resilience journey.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection of data necessary to understand and improve the resilience of the organization and its related business entities.
  • Lead the identification of opportunities for the mitigation of unplanned business interruption and related risks.
  • Lead the creation of recovery and response plans for departments and business segments, and facilitate exercises to validate the appropriateness of developed plans.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization as they improve their state of resilience over time.
  • Collaborate with the Disaster Recovery team to enable them with insight into the resilience requirements of the business.
  • Assist the Operational Resilience leader in the organizational response to unplanned interruptions.
  • Configure, generate, and maintain reports showing a variety of resilience data including the analyses of current and historical readiness, readiness gaps, inter-dependencies, and similar.
  • Develop and maintain OpRes team documentation including procedures, training material, and similar.
  • Oversee and administer the central resilience software system including its configuration and regular maintenance over time and support for any changes related to projects. Also assist system users with their use of the system. Recommend and execute approved system improvements.
  • Keep up to date with industry and organizational changes in order to be considered a valued contributor as a member of the Operational Resilience team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help maximize the goals and benefits of Operational Resilience.
  • Work independently on projects and regularly assigned activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

  • This position requires 3-5 years’ experience in operational resilience or related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience creating recovery and response plans, and participating in scenario-based tabletop exercises.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow in the Resilience field is a must.
  • A foundation-level resilience certification from a leading certifying agency (e.g., BCI, DRI) is required within one year of job start and its continued currency is likewise required.
  • Prior experience working in a medium or larger size business is a plus.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as a basic data analysis capability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with standard MS Office tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and ability to participate in or execute multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business or a Resilience-related field or equivalent experience is required.

 

Professional certifications are a plus.

Work Days

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.

 

Work Hours

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
