Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities related to all areas of the  Accounts Receivable Department. This role is responsible for mentoring and training Associates and Specialists in the department. Streamline and enhance all credit, collections and payment application processes, and lead special projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads special projects and oversees all department processes and best practices.
• Mentors and trains Accounts Receivable Associates and Specialists.
• Develops and updates processes for the credit application, payment application, and B2B collection areas.
• Participates in and coordinates the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of automated and manual financial systems and new technology solutions.
• Review and process escalated credit applications, national agreements, vendor forms, rebate release and certificate of insurance requests.
• Monitors and adjust regional account workload assignment.
• Evaluates and maintains escalated and complex credit limit analysis above Associates and Specialist I and II thresholds.
• Gathers, tracks, and reports department attainment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to upper management
• Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the department.
• Coordinate and lead meetings with national partners/customers to provide assistance on account set up, payment structures, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoots and resolves escalated and complex customer and store issues.
• Oversees, reviews, and helps streamline all collection agency activity.
• Assists employees, vendors, or customers by answering escalated questions related to accounts, procedures and services.
• Displays broad understanding of company culture.
• Stays current on latest industry technologies, trends and strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• This position requires a minimum of five years accounts receivable, credit management and collections experience. Experience with SAP or other accounting preferred.
• Proven customer service experience is necessary.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure, accurately meet deadlines, and present a professional demeanor is essential.
• The ability to multi-task, and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines simultaneously are required.
• This position also requires excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to develop professional relationships with cross functional teams. Intermediate level computer experience, including skills with Microsoft Word and Excel, is necessary.
• The ability to work within a team and serve as a trusted expert for assigned duties is necessary.

Educational Requirements:

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Additional college level accounting, finance or math classes are beneficial.
