Senior Asset Specialist

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Asset Specialist serves in a lead role performing strategic, tactical, and technical tasks in support of life cycle management for information technology (IT) assets. This includes performing tasks to ensure timely and accurate updates to our systems of record, promoting good corporate citizenship regarding asset use, and providing ongoing relevant subject matter expertise to Discount Tire in conjunction with guidance and direction from the program leaders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform Single Point of Contact (SPOC) function for ITSM tools and processes.
- Enter and track assets in appropriate systems of record. (Service Now)
- Manage governance model for software approval, recording and maintenance.
- Create Hardware Purchase Orders
- Conduct inventory cycle counts, forecast replenishments, and set safety stock levels.
- Create and maintain approved list of software within system of record.
- Manage assigned projects (project planning, issues management, status reporting).
- Serve as a technical resource to the IT department and to business resources leaders as requested, participating in the research and evaluation of new technology.
- Maintain and enforce defined processes and policies.
- Manage and maintain process for scanning for unapproved software.
- Create and maintain governance model and SLA's for software approval lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with all departments/individuals directly and indirectly impacted by IT Asset Management to achieve/exceed defined service levels.
- Mentor and coach Asset Specialist I, II.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum of five years’ experience with advanced knowledge in IT Asset Management Methodologies, IT Warehouse Operations including, but not limited to asset lifecycle (asset receipt, deployment, retirement, disposal, and restocking), contract management (ELA, SLAs, points/value unit tracking), finance, IT Hardware and Software management trending, audit compliance, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of Technology (general IT)
- Hardware Technical Bench Operations-computer imaging, PCI compliance wiping, troubleshooting, warranty execution-Return Manufacture Authorization (RMA) processes.
- Written and verbal communications skills including creating documentation and workflows for continuous process improvement.
- Proficient to MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power point)
- Effective project management skills

- In addition, organizational and problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- A+, Apple Business Manager and Dell Certifications a plus
- Additional college level Computer Science, Information Technology or related classes are beneficial.
