The Senior Data Privacy Advisor is responsible for executing data privacy program operations and projects while in alignment with the company’s business objectives and data management strategy. This role facilitates the company’s adherence to relevant data privacy laws, regulations, and best practices, protecting sensitive information and maintaining the trust of customers, partners, and stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute data privacy initiatives and compliance operations across teams to facilitate the integration of privacy and data management policies and best practices into business processes.
- Monitor and facilitate adherence to program objectives, including website and mobile app compliance monitoring and honoring GPC signal and Opt-outs.
- Lead the customer data access request process, maintaining and updating SOPs, coordinating with stakeholders from IT, Legal and partnering business teams to execute the process and strategically scale the program.
- Collaborate with teams to identify compliance gaps and implement remediation strategies.
- Guide the activities of others, providing expertise to ensure compliance excellence.
- Develop, improve, and maintain policies, procedures, and program elements to reflect updates in privacy laws and regulations, while supporting updates to consumer facing notices.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments to support privacy risk management.
- Support the development and execution of Privacy Incident Response in partnership with Legal and Security.
- Develop data privacy training and awareness content.
- Administer program support tools & technologies (i.e., data map, customer data request portal).
- Prepare and present analyses for leadership and stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate processes and implement improvements to enhance program delivery efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a business analyst, compliance program specialist, or project manager in compliance, data management, privacy, risk or related field
- Essential knowledge of U.S. privacy laws and regulations (e.g., CCPA)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with various levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/CIPM/CIPT), PMP or similar certifications are highly desirable
