Sr Tax and Technology Specialist

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Tax and Technology Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of tax technology and analytics related to indirect and direct tax. This role will focus on automation and process improvement as well as serve as a technology liaison between Tax and other departments on enterprise projects and strategic initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply knowledge to develop and maintain tax reporting and analysis.
- Develop and implement technology solutions and best practices, oversee ongoing maintenance of tax systems, and deliver end user training materials.
- Optimize new and existing tax systems to provide efficiencies and streamline processes.
- Design, build and deploy low-code and no-code technology solutions including, but not limited to SQL, Alteryx or SAP related automations.
- Provide tax subject matter expertise to projects and initiatives by identifying tax impacts of the project, providing tax requirements, collaborating on design decisions with the IT organization, and support testing to ensure requirements are met.
- Collaborate with Tax Team to ensure tax systems reflect current regulatory requirements and expected audit results.
- Manage daily governance of tax data.
- Integrate, oversee, and collaborate with the Information Lifecyle Management Team regarding their initiatives as they apply to the tax department and the finance segment.
- Work with and maintain relationships with tax technology vendors.
- Attend periodic tax and technology trainings to update and increase certifications.
- Continually supply new ideas to challenge assumptions around what is possible to ensure best practices are in place.
- Develop, train, and mentor Tax and Technology Specialists; review and evaluate completed department tasks; communicated findings to assist in development.

Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ experience in corporate tax required
- Previous experience in automating tax, accounting, or finance processes is necessary
- Knowledge of either indirect or direct tax is required.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure, accurately meet deadlines, and present a professional demeanor is essential.
- The ability to work independently and in a team, multi-task, and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines simultaneously are required.
- Experience in training management and staff on new systems is preferred.
- Certifications in Alteryx are preferred.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and/or technology preferred or equivalent work experience.
Work Days
Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.
Work Hours
Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.”
